Understanding and Overcoming The Fatherless Woman Syndrome is an exciting, interactive 60-minute online workshop where participants will learn about the five factors of The Fatherless Woman Syndrome, as codified by Jonetta Rose Barras. They will gain an understanding about how it might present in their personal and professional lives while receiving information about steps that could be taken to reduce its adverse impact. The session is for women 18 and older. It is free but registration is required for this virtual events. The workshop is led by Jonetta Rose Barras, one of the leading authorities and voices in the women's fatherhood movement. She was the first African American woman to write about father absence and the first to codify its impact in the lives of black women. Her book, "Whatever Happened to Daddy's Little Girl: The Impact of Fatherlessness on Black Women, " ignited a national movement and is used by many clinicians and experts around the world in their practices and research.Barras will be joined by Dr. Tracie Robinson, owner and founder of Essences of Wellness Authentic Transformation. She is also a certified Dance/Movement Therapist. She holds a Doctorate in Transpersonal Psychology--the holistic approach to addressing mental, physical, social, emotional, creative and intellectual needs with an emphasis on the role of a spirit in healing). It focuses on the positive influences and role models rather than concentrating on negative experiences.
