Sauti Yetu Center for African Women, is a community based non-profit organization dedicated to mobilizing poor and low income African immigrant women to improve the qualities of their lives, strengthen their families and develop their communities.

Sauti Yetu is a multi-issue community-based organization based in the Bronx and Staten Island working with immigrant African women and families.

Sauti Yetu's advocacy work cuts across issues and movements, is shaped by the realities of immigrant African women and girl's lives, and responsive to the constraints and challenges they face.

Despite our broad mandate and our far-reaching vision of social justice and equality, there are several priority issues we have chosen to focus on.

These are:

Violence against women and girls
Early forced marriage
Reproductive justice
Female genital cutting (FGC)
Gender and migration
Education and schooling
Youth and migration

Our Information and Documentation Center has evolved in response to the demand for accurate, non-sensational information on FC/FGC and the development of a multi-disciplinary strategy that supports women and families, and promotes operational research.
