This session is lead by Pamela Windle with the topic High Blood Pressure.CARDIOVASCULAR disease is often called type 3 diabetes, and the long term risk could mean possible ALZHEIMER and dementia in later life. It is the biggest killer of post-menopause women and older men. In this talk, I'll be talking about certain nutrients that support a healthy heart and lifestyle tips that will lead you towards optimal health. Genetics may hold the gun, but lifestyle pulls the trigger!ABOUT THE PROJECTPalava Tree discusses issues around mental health, physical health, community discussions, lifestyle and COVID 19 effects on the community. It is a safe space to speak out, discuss and share experiences and combat isolation.Activities are designed to gain more information and approach the pandemic through critical reflection and through peer support and discussions. In addition, participants are able to acquire tools and practices to live healthier and more balanced.ParticipatingThe project is created for participants in the Midlands. We are creating a safe space for people of African and Caribbean heritage to discuss these topics. Spaces are limited and to confirm your space, we will send you a short survey via email to respond to and instructions to sign up to our online platform.This project is made possible through funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund.
