The African Caribbean Leadership Company and Code1 Community Group have received funding from the THE LONDON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION to deliver this wonderful 12 weeks journey of fun and engaging learning for young people to enjoy African Caribbean History and Culture & Art.Our main Facilitator, Bevali Mckenzie, has worked with young people for over 20 years and has a track record for developing creative ideas and building self esteem through creativity. She promotes inclusive activities with young people and believes in building the community up by sharing knowledge and skills with its future generation at an early age.Every child must be empowered to know they can achieve. Date – Every Thursday Time – 4pm – 4.30pm ART & WELL-BEINGEvery Saturday Time - 11am - 12pm COOKERY & WELL-BEINGTHESE SESSIONS WILL:Increase confidence Improve communication skills Build resilience Develop interpersonal skills Increase self-esteem Inspire and motivate long term Develop leadership and teamwork skills Build belief in ‘self’ In these 12-week sessions children will: Understand the meaning of Self Love Broaden and explore their creative mind through learning about black history and culture Adopt principals such as speaking ideas into existence, building their confidence, resilience working towards their key communication skills Gain a basic understand of black history and black culture and be able to demonstrate participation in art & craft activities. **PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ONLY HAVE ENOUGH FREE ART SUPPLIES FOR 15 LOCAL FAMILIES living near the centre ACLC, 9 Clarendon Road, N8 0DJ. THIS IS A COURSE OF 12 SESSIONS**PARENTS WILL NEED TO HELP OUT DURING SOME COOKERY SESSIONS.
