Explore how community film nights can get people in your community thinking about climate change – and experience a film night for yourself as we watch a challenging film and hear directly from its director who will be joining us live from the US. Programme for the evening19:00 – Introduction to film nights on ZoomHear from Arran Eco Savvy about how they use films to get people learning, thinking and acting on climate change through their Savvy Film Club.19:15 – Film - Cooked: Survival by Zip codeCooked: Survival by Zip Code tells the story of the tragic 1995 Chicago heatwave, the most traumatic in U.S. history, in which 739 citizens died over the course of just a single week, most of them poor, elderly, and African American. 20:15 – Discussion on ZoomWe’re thrilled to be joined live by the film’s producer Judith Helfand who will join us, on Zoom, for a discussion of the film’s themes – and the role of film in community climate action. We’ll use small breakout rooms to ensure that everyone can have their say. 20:45 Thank you and close.
