Brighton & Hove Black History invites you to an exclusive online event of Black History Social, for a chance to reconnect with the local history of Brighton through the lens of its Black heritage.A narrative historical event from Black History historians and researchers paying homage to the incredible story of the African princess Sarah Forbes Bonetta and the historical visit of the three kings of Botswana to Brighton in 1895.You will also have the opportunity to watch a narrative short film on Thomas Highflyer, a 12-year-old freed African Slave boy buried in Brighton on 1870.Music from DJ Fever2Ray from African Night Fever.Tickets are by donation -- all proceeds will go to Brighton & Hove Black History.The primary aim of the organisation is to challenge racism and prejudice by raising awareness of the multicultural history of Britain, with particular reference to Brighton and Hove and Sussex.The event is produced by Writing Our Legacy -- for more information, contact info@writingourlegacy.org.uk.Supported by Brighton & Hove Bus and Coach Company
