Event Description

Register: About: A study within Australia suggests that Young immigrants from Africa living in Australia are 10 times more likely to develop psychosis than Australian-born youth. Adjustment to a new culture and unfamiliar country can be daunting. Sometimes some education and information about new customs, expectations and ways of doing things can make a great difference to one’s social and employment opportunities and integration. The aim of this group is to support the African youth with their wellbeing, promote connectedness, and reduce isolation. The support group provides the participants with guidance and advice about mental health, self-care and a safe space to share their concerns and challenges.
